Did you try to negotiate using your Cornell offer? Do you have any other scholarship offers you can use to negotiate with UCLA?
I went to Cornell and loved it, but even given your current situation, UCLA makes sense for your goals. Enjoy the sunshine!

Did you use LS22's calculator (it's in a sticky in this sub-forum) to calculate the COA's? The Cornell one looks a little low to me
