Heading to law school right out of undergrad. A Floridian but went to undergrad out of state.
Ultimately want to live and work in the Southeast. Want big law. Here are the choices:
University of Georgia: Offered in state tuition plus a $5000/ year scholarship. Tuition per year less than $15,000
Washington & Lee: $90,000 total scholarship. Tuition per year about $17,000
University of Florida: 60% off of in-state tuition which equals to about at total scholarship of $40,100. Tuition per year $8500
Florida State: 75% off of in state tuition which equals to about a total scholarship of $46,400. Tuition per year $5000
University of Miami: $120,000 scholarship. Tuition per year $7000
The best options for big law seem to be UGA and UF. Am I better off paying a little more (aprox. $20,000 total) to go to UGA for their ranking and their perception & reputation in Atlanta a major Southern city? Do any of these schools jump out as the most obvious choice? Which school would have the most national recognition should I decide to move to another area of the country?
Any advice or feedback you can give is appreciated.

If you really want SE big law, then you need to retake for T14 or maybe Vandy. If you're ok with not getting big law and staying in Florida, then I suppose UF is an OK option here, although I'd still probably say retake for more money.Law33409 wrote:Heading to law school right out of undergrad. Considering cost of living and opportunity, I say you should negotiate for a higher scholarship at UGA.
