Hello everyone. I'm looking for a little help in deciding which law school (if I decide to go) would be a better investment in the long run.
St. John's offered a 20k scholarship with a GPA requirement - you need to be in the top 40% of the class to keep your whole scholarship. Outside the 40% you keep a certain percentage of the scholarship based on your class placement. It seems for 2014 they had better job statistics than Cardozo.
Cardozo offered $10k scholarship with no min GPA requirement. The consensus from attorneys I work with seems to be that Cardozo is the better school out of the two. I'm discouraged because I'll have to pay an extra $30k in the long run but it might be worth it for a better school.
I'm looking for some outside opinions regarding this situation. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

Well it seems like you're not sure that you want to go to law school based on saying "If I decide to go". You shouldn't go to either of these schools with those very bad scholarship amounts. Take some time off to get your LSAT score up and truly answer the question if law school is right for you. Get your LSAT score up to where the only offer that Cardozo/ St. Johns gives you is a full ride, and even then you will have better options.

That seems unlikely. I studied for two years and took two prep courses. It's not going to go up more than it already has.TheMikey wrote:Well it seems like you're not sure that you want to go to law school based on saying "If I decide to go". What is your LSAT score and GPA? Depending on your GPA, if you could just take some time to get your LSAT score to around a 160+ you can easily get a full ride to these schools, or extremely close to it if these are the schools you are truly considering no matter what.rangersfan67 wrote:That seems unlikely.
