ND v BU v SHU
So I finally got all my offers in and trying to decide where to go is killer. I received 40k a year at ND, 25k at BU, and full at SHU (only reason I am not totally ignoring shu, full rides are hard to ignore for me)
based of schools COA-scholly(ignoring inflation);
ND-$34,547/yr ->$103,641
BU-$45,112/yr ->$135.336
SHU-$23,402/yr->$70,206
Will be using loans to pay.
As far as goals are I don't really have any specific ones. Mainly just want to graduate with a job making something decent. Not really gunning for BigLaw but not against it. From NY but don't okay with not coming back after school though I think I would prefer to stay on/close to the east coast.
if I had gotten 35k from BU I would probably pick it over ND in the end, but not sure if it is worth 30k more

I think your goals need to become more specific before attending any law school.
How are you defining "decent"? Are you ok graduating without a job and spending 9 months to a year after graduation trying to get something that pays 50K and you may or may not ever end up as a practicing attorney?
You're probably underestimating your debt by about 20-30K, I'm not sure any of those schools are justifiable at that debt level.
What is your GPA/LSAT?

while I see your point in the generalness of the word... I'm not sure how that could even be used as a example of decent.BigZuck wrote:I think your goals need to become more specific before attending any law school.

I had almost identical stats as you and managed to get another $6,000 out of ND. Doesn't make a huge difference but by all means try to get a larger scholarship from them as well as the other schools. (I did not end up enrolling there.)
I'd suggest running a student loan calculator to get an idea of what your monthly payments would look like based on different repayment plans. Also do some research into what kinds of jobs students from each schools typically start out at, and run a few hypothetical budgets based on what those jobs usually pay minus you monthly loan payments.

You really need to retake in June and see how many more points you can squeeze out of the LSAT. Don't settle for a 164.
So how are you defining "decent?"

BigZuck, decent would be enough to provide for myself along with paying off loans. and retake isn't an option

And why is retaking in June not an option?
