Fordham (30k/yr) vs Cardozo (full ride)

Post by Law2019 » Thu Mar 17, 2016 9:01 am

As the title says, I am deciding between these schools. Fordham is obviously a tier above Cardozo, but does anyone think it is worth it at that price? Even at $30,000 a year, the total cost comes out to about $100,000, while I would end up paying about $30,000 at Cardozo. I am not set on trying for big law, and I have the option of taking over my father's decently successful small firm (he makes about $500,000 a year). I would not work for my father right out of law school, so my ability to find a first job does play a role in my decision making. Does the risk of Fordham (big debt load and only about a third of the class gets a job that could pay off that debt) outweigh the benefits of having a more prestigious degree?

same dilemma (slightly less at fordham) - leaning towards the free education.

In your case, this decision should come from your father. If the additional 'prestige' of Fordham is important to him, than do it.
