Emory $ vs texas out of state
Deciding between emory with 33k a year scholarship vs ut austin out of state sticker price. Like both but worried that emory forces me to stay in georgia. What do you think?
Coa of emory: 84k total
Cos of texas: 189k total
Financing entirely with loans
3.63 ugpa
166 lsat taken twice, 163 on first attempt
From boston but no ties to legal field.
Not sure about career goals

I recommend retaking the lsat. Starting from a 36 you could get nothing right and still have the record for biggest improvement.Dso115 wrote:Deciding between emory with 33k a year scholarship vs ut austin out of state sticker price. Re: Emory $ vs texas out of state
-Your general career goals
-Your LSAT
-How many times you have taken the LSAT
either way, the answer is going to be: they are both too expensive (you are way undershooting COA). You aren't including interest, tuition increases, etc.

As you said, Emory prob forces you to stay in Georgia. Texas prob limits your options to the Texas market. So it depends on where you want to live.

You're from Boston but looking at schools in Georgia and Texas? do you want to end up in these markets?

I have no particular attachment to boston or anywhere else in the country.
