Hey Everyone,
Hoping that I could get some advice for a school choice. My dream scenario would be to work on civil rights issues for the ACLU out west (Colorado, Oregon, Washington).
Options are:
- Georgetown at sticker
- UWashington with small scholarship
- UNC with big scholarship plus in-state tuition
- UC with big scholarship
Would be going the LRAP route with Georgetown. Basically, given my career goals, it comes down to how does the ranking of Georgetown weigh with the advantage of going to school where I'd like to practice (Colorado or Washington)? UNC would be the cheapest but I'm not really interested in staying in NC.
Thanks!

This is one of the worst posts I've ever seen on TLSdarthslughorn wrote:No advice because 0L, but I really want to point out how weird it is that you said "UC Boulder." University of Colorado shortens to CU, not UC. UC is for the University of California system. You should know that before committing a chunk of your time and money there.

ACLU is really a tough gig to land.
UNC totally does not fit given your preference for the Mountain West. I would never advise Georgetown at sticker, even with the LRAP that seems risky because if you strike out in public interest, that is life-ruining debt.
Do you have any ties to Washington or Colorado? We also really need the total cost of attendance of each before giving any real answer. From what I understand, UW out of state is crazy expensive, so with a small scholarship, will probably be too much debt.

Pretend the ACLU/civil rights thing wouldn't happen (and it likely won't, the odds of landing something like that is really remote).
