Hello,
Any advice would be appreciated...
I have been accepted into Chapman Law with a 50% Merit Scholarship based on keeping a 2.9 GPA. (It should be important to note that I currently reside in Florida but have wanted to move to the LA area as my girlfriend is a filmmaker.)
I am on the wait list at a number of schools:
-University of Florida
-University of Miami
-Pepperdine University
And I was on the wait list at University of Colorado until they offered me a seat as of yesterday.
I know that Chapman's employment statistics are not great but the idea of not having to cover nearly 75K of tuition is what enticed me.
I guess my main question is whether attending Colorado-Strum is worth forgoing Chapman's scholarship as Colorado is not offering money at this time.
I know that rankings aren't so important unless your talking about a top 40 school. Chapman I believe is around 125 right now and Denver 67.
I should also note that Colorado has asked me to give them a decision and pay my seat deposit by Friday.
STATS:
-LSAT: 156 / GPA: 3.4
-Will be financing my degree completely through Loans.
-I want to practice law in Southern California
Thank you

OC is hardly the same thing as the LA area and cost of living is $$$ compared to FL.
You'll also be competing against UCLA/USC/UCI/Pepperdine/ULM/USD grads for the same jobs in SoCal.
Study and retake the LSAT. 6-7 more points and you wouldn't be WL'ed and if you were absolutely dead set on going to Chapman, it would probably be a 100% scholarship. I don't know if they stack scholarship students in the same section, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

OP: I think that you are confusing the Univ. of Colorado with the Univ. of Denver's school of law.

You 100% need to retake. Don't be a fool in the over-saturated CA market.
