Re: WUSTL or Vanderbilt?
Seems like a toss up. I'd probably take Vandy just for the little extra peace of mind if you hit a bit above median, but not top quarter. An extra 45k won't be fun, but it won't break you either. I'm sure there are others that would go the other way. Honestly, surprised you're not playing with better offers here - the obvious response is wait a year and re-apply.

Did you apply late? Current WUSTL student, and I'd say no to both, and think if you just sit out and reapply early next cycle you should have decent T14 offers.

Vandy 2L here. That price isn't bad for most people. But most people who come to Vandy aren't NYC focused. If you had some ties to a southern market and were also interested in NYC, I'd say go for it. But I'd caution against going to Vandy if you are NYC or bust if you have a decent amount of $ at Cornell.

Reapply. With those numbers you should get some solid $ in the T14.

How so?landshoes wrote:I'm a snowflake applicant.
Curiously I'm in an eerily similar position; not a snowflake applicant at all.

If you're URM I'd apply next cycle. You're late application appears to have hurt your cycle.landshoes wrote:URM, old, applied late, weird but compelling softs, terrible looking work history, GPA that looks better than my transcript does.

Yeah, reapply early next cycle, maybe find a consultant or pre-law advisor to help you message your uniqueness. Will pay big dividends - I'd think you'd be competitive for the $$$ at Northwestern ED or significant scholarships across the T14.KMart wrote:If you're URM I'd apply next cycle. Careful with those pre-law advisers. They are notoriously awfulusn26 wrote:Yeah, reapply early next cycle, maybe find a consultant or pre-law advisorUse this site, or a consultant if you can afford it, to help you message your uniqueness.
