Columbia. PM if you have any questions about pursuing CA firms, CA clerkships, and international practice generally from CLS. Your goals and personal circumstances seem similar to mine when I made this decision.

I think you're trying to dismiss the OP's question as ridiculous, but that's not really fair. Another way to frame this is a 100% scholly at CLS versus a 75% scholly at Berkeley. OP wants to target SF/SV and has a SO who would prefer to live and work in the Bay Area over the next three years. Given the OP's geographic and personal preferences (and in light of the substantial scholarship from Berk), it's not crazy to pick Berkeley in these circumstances. I wouldn't argue with anyone voting for Columbia, though.

I think Columbia makes the most logical sense but personal factors could easily swing it in Berkeley's favor. Only you can decide that, TLS can't really help you here.

Those brilliant bastards. As a rule I don't trust any man with two first names and no last name but that Dean Tom dude might be the GOAT.

You loved Berkeley. You want to practice in the Bay Area. It is the best situation for you and your S.O.

I am biased because I went to Berkeley and had three of the best years of my life, but I think the choice is clear here.

Yep! It took about 3 weeks to get the offer after I submitted the matching app.
