Re: Give me some advice!
Are you paying sticker at NU? If so, probably UIUC since you want Chicago, but take the LSAT a third time to increase and see if it is possible to get some scholarship money from NUMs4life wrote:Right now I have the options of: Iowa (full ride), Indiana Maurer (full ride), UIUC (full ride), and NorthWestern(full loans). I'm still waiting on a reply from both Michigan and Cornell (which I believe will be full loans as well, if even accepted).
The debt for the first three would be minimal, as living in those 3 areas is relatively cheap.
I will be financing all COL, and in the case of NW COA, through loans.
I want to work in Chicago, and either in BigLaw or Public Interest (probably public interest in the end). I also have ties to NY and some in CA, but more so NY.
167/3.1 Non-URM
Taken the LSAT twice.

If you're paying the loans, and are debt-averse, I'd suggest UIUC because of your desire to work public interest.

Usually agree with ya, but what difference does it really make? Won't a 170/3.1 still pay sticker in the T14? I would take UIUC here.Mack.Hambleton wrote:UIUC but dont expect biglaw also retake

I provide one piece of evidence to say that you are correct. Exact stats. Exact situation.Winston1984 wrote:Usually agree with ya, but what difference does it really make? Almost always, but OP is URM so might get some money? I agree UIUC is the right answer, but a retake in June and then a score in the 170s might be worth checking outWinston1984 wrote:Usually agree with ya, but what difference does it really make? Thanks, I did not read that correctly. Then never mind, a retake won't make a differenceimKMart wrote:This is incorrect.thebobs1987 wrote:

At some point people are going to stop posting because enough people have hammered home UIUC. I'd add a poll to see just where everyone thinks you should go (it's likely UIUC by a heavy margin).

yeah but no reasonable poster is going to suggest one of the other options here with the goals OP has stated.imKMart wrote:At some point people are going to stop posting because enough people have hammered home UIUC. UIUC, retake, or don't go.

Re: Give me some advice!
The whole "oh, biglaw or public interest, I guess eventually public interest" thing is kind of scary, and a pretty good way to end up unemployed. Probably a lot better to be unemployed with UIUC debt than Northwestern's, so UIUC.

Re: Give me some advice!
My thinking was the visualization would help OP realize that, because at some point people won't comment and beat a dead horse but, at least for me, they might still vote.zombie mcavoy wrote:yeah but no reasonable poster is going to suggest one of the other options here with the goals OP has stated.imKMart wrote:At some point people are going to stop posting because enough people have hammered home UIUC.
