Why do you want to work in Americas legal field. Some people are crazy. I wouldn't go to law school at all if you're in another graduate program. Do tha.

Retake. I don't think being held at Cornell means you have a good shot of getting in, your LSAT is way too low for them.

Answer is definitely retake, but what's your current graduate program in? Why law school?

Even if you were to get into Cornell somehow, even though you'll feel great for having squeezed in, you have to go to UIUC. It's hard for me to say that because those judgmental little punks rejected me over my C&F disclosure, but it would be the only prudent decision that you could make. Biglaw is just a modern day version of lucrative indentured servitude from everything I've read. No one in his right mind would want to do that kind of work willingly.

I don't think foreigners can take out loans so that wouldn't be an issue. I'm guessing her family or sponsors would be fronting all the money which is even crazier because part of the reason law school is worth it because the debt repayment programs in case you fuck up. Op - what foreign languages do you know and what's your graduate program in? I'm saying you shouldn't go to law school most likely but if you must go I'd go Illinois. Knowing a foreign language at Illinois coupled with the right grad program Could be a significant boost over the other students but it matters a lot.

Many thanks for all ur responses. My grad program is in mathematical economics- it's a weird field and I don't think it helps with IP. I speak French- is it beneficial at all?

French is not very helpful in biglaw from what I've seen. Not enough to give you a huge boost above other competitive candidates at Illinois. Mathematical economics is a pretty nice ticket. I'd ride that one out. You can easily make six figures with 40 hour work weeks with what you got. What are the jobs looking like in your field? Have you tried applying to US positions or reaching out to US people in the field?mathnruss wrote:Many thanks for all ur responses. Why would an international student want to go to a regional school in Illinois. You better really like living in Illinois
