I know New England Law is ranked pretty low, especially compared to all the other Boston schools, but they offered me a full-tuition scholarship and I'm definitely interested in graduating with no law school debt...but is it worth it? Any info you have on the school (rankings, reputation, etc) would be great! thanks!

Almost certainly not.

NE Law is in competition with Suffolk to be the 5th best law school in Boston. Less than 40% of their grads even get legal jobs and over 20% were straight up unemployed (http://www.lstscorereports.com/schools/newengland/2013/).

Speaking from personal experience (I work as a paralegal in Boston) there are paralegals in our office who have graduated from NE part-time and been completely unable to find jobs, so are still working here as paralegals almost a year after passing the Bar. And statistically speaking, they are the lucky ones.

I suppose going with no debt wouldn't be disasterous, but given that you'd be spending three (or more) years of your life and likely would not get anything out of it, my advice would be don't go.

Don't. Just don't.

Even if you had an amazing career waiting for you upon graduation, retake to get Suffolk, ATLEAST. But if you're a run of the mill K-JD or only a couple years out of school and want to go to law school, just because, then you need to retake for a 165+/ get some work experience/ really soul search why you want to go to law school.

In order to receive the best feedback in this forum, please provide as much of the following information in your original post as possible:

-The schools you are considering
-The total Cost of Attendance (COA) of each. COA = cost of tuition + fees + books + cost of living (COL) + accumulated interest - scholarships. Here is a helpful calculator.
-How you will be financing your COA, i.e. loans, family, or savings
-Where you are from and where you want to work, and other places where you have significant ties (if any)
-Your general career goals
-Your LSAT/GPA numbers
-How many times you have taken the LSAT

I walked by New England Law's building the other day for the first time. It's one of the saddest-looking buildings in the city.

New England law hands down had the best, slickest pamphlets from this cycle. Cornell was the only other school close.

I was convinced that a very significant portion of their revenue goes towards convincing people to go. In this regard, NELS is possibly ranked #1 in the nation.

As for going there to get a degree ... WHAT?!?!!?!? WHY?!?

Not worth it, especially if you have to take out loans to cover your cost of living.

Even if you didn't, it's still three years of your life likely wasted.

Suffolk's median LSAT has dropped from 156 to 149 over the past four years (lol). Maybe you could use this fact to help you get money from that school as well.
