American to GMU Transfer IP
Need suggestions on choose whether to stick with American or transfer to Mason. I am a part-time student at AU and interested in pursuing IP Law (possibly prosecution). I live in VA so Mason is way cheaper (40k+ savings - in state tuition). However, I have heard from ppl that AU has a better reputation. I don't plan on switching to a full time program and would like to work until I graduate. I am not sure whether I should make my decision based on $$ I will save or the reputation. This would be a no brainer if I had to chose between AU and GW, but I feel Mason and AU rank very close to each other. Let me know what your thoughts on which would be a better school for IP. It would be great if I could hear from any Masonites about their experience!
Pros AU:
1. Better IP reputation (not sure? but that is what I hear)
2. "Comfortable" here since I spent 2 semsters
3. No more Legal Rhetoric/Writing (i hated it!!)
Con AU:
1. Expensive
Pro GMU:
1. Cheaper - i will save 40+ over next three years (part-time is a 4 year program).
Con GMU
1. New environment etc.
2. 2 more semesters of legal writing/rhetoric

I would transfer out of American University as soon as humanly possible if given the opportunity.

I don't know what the last part of your quote means exactly but yes, yes their tuition is very, very high for a terrible school.shubster wrote:haha yeah their tuition is exceptionally high for the value they provideCounselorNebby wrote:No one here likes AU.
