UVA is justified imo. Cornell will probably lock you into NYC so I think paying ~20k for other options is fine.

I think your interest in VA justifies UVA here. Cornell could probably get you where you want to go, but I wouldn't risk it for 20k. Especially if you are interested in secondary markets, you build credibility by staying in VA.

if you're as hopeful for richmond biglaw as this post makes you seem, $20k+interest extra for uva is a no brainer. especially where the rest of your preferences are all slightly boosted by uva affiliation, too. pop that collar, brah

Not only is UVA TCR for your goals, I think UVA is the better choice for any random long-term goals you might have. Given your connections to the state and Richmond you should know that UVA is an incredibly strong brand in Virginia.
