Pepperdine vs. ASU at same cost

Post by krispymenudo » Tue Apr 15, 2014 4:29 pm

Attending either Pepperdine or ASU would amount to about $10k in debt in my situation. I eventually want to live and work in LA. ASU is 31, whilst Pepperdine is 54 in the rankings, but I feel Pepperdine will be a better help in finding a job in LA. Thoughts?

normally I would say go to the best school in the region where you want to work. But, I do not know which of these two schools is better for LA. However, what are your ties to Arizona? If they are pretty significant, I would say go there, in case LA doesn't work out.

I don't have any ties to Arizona whatsoever; I just applied because my family visits often and I like the area. I feel that might be a disadvantage for ASU as well.

Do you have any ties in LA? I think the normal response here is that Pepperdine is never worth it, but if you have significant ties, perhaps?
