-The schools you are considering: WUSTL (full) vs Michigan (35k/yr)
-The total Cost of Attendance (COA) of each.
Michigan: ~35,000 x 3 = 105k total
WUSTL: total estimated living costs ~= 40k
-How you will be financing your COA, i.e. loans, family, or savings
local government loans @2.5% (I hold dual citizenship)
-Where you are from and where you want to work, and other places where you have significant ties (if any)
Born in NYC but grew up abroad; would like to work in NYC
-Your general career goals
Biglaw; corporate
-Your LSAT/GPA numbers
172/3.65
-How many times you have taken the LSAT
twice
I'm very debt-averse, so unless another school increases its scholarship offer by a significant amount I'll probably be going with one of these two schools. Because I'm aiming for Biglaw, Michigan seems like the better choice; however, I've been reading recently that Michigan is performing poorly in terms of Biglaw placement. Would it still be worth it to take Michigan at a decent scholarship over WUSTL full ride?
Thank you for reading.

Yes. Michigan places far better into NYC biglaw than WUSTL. With a cost difference of less than 100k it's an easy choice.bruws wrote:Would it still be worth it to take Michigan at a decent scholarship over WUSTL full ride?

I think you're underestimating your costs at WashU, unless your full ride is an actual full ride instead of tuition this year x 3. Tuition has averaged about a 4.2% increase each year for the last 5 years: http://www.lstscorereports.com/schools/ ... osts/2013/
Only another $4500 or so, but that's not nothing.
