W%L vs W&M vs BC LAST MINUTE
Ok, so I have a 3.5/165 from a sub-Ivy college. Want to work in Boston, NY area, or DC/VA. Here are my options, don't say retake.
BC: 25K a year in tuition
William and Mary: 15K a year
Washington and Lee: 5K a year
I'm perfectly content with living in the middle of nowhere. Lee would be dirt cheap, but its recent drop in the USNews rankings is worrisome.

I can honestly say that I don't understand why W&L is even an option here. If the $10k per year between W&L is an issue than approach W&M and have them meet you half way. W&L is a terrible option if you are focused on employment.
My first choice would be BC if you can get tuition to $50K or less for 3 years because of its location and access to externships in a major market during the school year. W&M "as is" will work but I would still try to have them shave $5K per year off their tuition.

If you like Boston, go to BC. William and Mary and W&L both place into saturated markets with many schools heavily placing into those markets, that are better.
BC you don't really have this issue.
Everybody is now realizing W&L is weak, so it is giving people tons of money. I still wouldn't go.

Job that pays for food, honestly. I open to corporate law but even BC only has 25% placement into 100+ lawyer firms. WL sucks in this regard, I understandtimbs4339 wrote:What are your career goals?BennyProfane wrote:Ok, so I have a 3.5/165 from a sub-Ivy college. Want to work in Boston, NY area, or DC/VA. I would strongly consider WL. Job numbers have not been great, but 5k/year is dirt cheap. As recently as 2011/2012, W&L's placement at NLJ 250 was in the top 25, and historically, it has been a strong regional school.BennyProfane wrote:Job that pays for food, honestly. In terms of long term, full time JD required (non-school funded) jobs for the Class of 2013, W&L was slightly better than W&M.
