Request for extending seat deposit deadline Forum

So I was accepted off of the waitlist earlier this week at one school. The school has sent an email saying the deposit deadline is still the 15th. I am planning on asking for a deadline extension due to the short turnaround. More importantly, I am waitlisted at other schools that will know how their class sizes are doing after the 15th and want to see if I get off. I know it could take all summer but some schools say they will admit off the WL April 16th. Is it ok for me to tell them I'm waiting on WL schools and need a deadline extension? Also, would this play to my advantage in terms of potential scholarship $$? Admissions packet should be in today or monday but otherwise have no idea of potential scholarship $$
