UChi vs. UVa
So, I have basically narrowed down my decision to two choices:
UVa at 50k/yr
UChi at 20k/yr
I have no real geographic ties to either area. Ideally, I'd like to work in NYC or elsewhere on the east coast after graduation. Likely in biglaw, if possible, for a few years before doing who knows what. I know UChi is the better school rankings-wise, but I am curious as to what people think the full ride from UVa does to possibly change the calculus of the situation.
Thanks in advance!

Re: UChi vs. NYU
The thread title says "UChi vs. NYU," but you seem to be talking about UChi v UVA for working in NYC?

0 tuition for UVA and you want NYC biglaw? That's a sweet deal. UVA all day.

I, like Regulus, am a U of Chicago student, and I love, love, love this school. That said, between tuition and CoL you'd probably be looking at roughly $100k in extra debt to come here, and I don't think there's anyway I'd take that on given your goals.reallytallkid9 wrote:So, I have basically narrowed down my decision to two choices:

Virginia all day. Enjoy paying off your loans years earlier than if you do UChi.

Then I'm going to have to go with UChi, since I'm more likely to end up there than UVA.reallytallkid9 wrote:barrelofmonkeys wrote:How tall are you?
