Is that a thing that happens?
I have been waitlisted by a ton of schools, and accepted by higher ranked ones. I don't really have any interest in staying on the WLs ( UVA, Mich, Berkeley, hold at NU), but I would if there was a chance I would get $$.
Thoughts?

Can't speak for any school other than NU.
I was held at NU, then WL. When I got off I negotiated for more aid, then when I decided it wasn't enough and withdrew they offered me more.
Basically if you haven't picked a school yet might as well stay on the WL.
