I'm sorry. I guess everyone reading this thread failed to realize that there are only two options. I'm sure on all your retakes you paid closer attention on the reading comp section. Thank you bjsesq, the only one who actually enlightened my perspective.

Cleveland Marshall Full Ride if you can negotiate that scholarship down to "good academic standing." Otherwise retake or don't go.
If you're smart enough to have these options you're smart enough to succeed somewhere other than law. The price of law school is simply way too high given the employment prospects.

You asked me what I would do. That's what I would do.thehowlingfantods wrote:Thank you for wasting your time.
If you're asking what you should do, you should retake the LSAT or not go to law school.
If you're asking what you're going to do, I don't know, I can't tell the future. If I had to guess, I would say that you're probably going to make a terrible life decision and/or be a douche and/or a troll, but that's just a hunch.

You'll be wasting your time to the tune of 3 years (and six figures of non-dischargeable debt if you go to Pitt) if you don't retake. You've created a false dichotomy. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to go this year.thehowlingfantods wrote:Thank you for wasting your time.

For what its worth, I agree with them that you should simply retake and try again; or not go at all. But, I accept the fact that you aren't going to be convinced. So at least get that stipulation down to "good academic standing"; or else you may well get thrown into a 1L section with a bunch of other kids with the same stipulation so that some of you have to lose it. Pitt at Sticker is outrageous.thehowlingfantods wrote:Thank you nomo for being diplomatic, friendly, and dare I say helpful. Wow...even on TLS
At least take some time to look at the data for both schools on the Law School Transparency website before making this plunge.

Option A:
Take the year off to work and study for the LSAT.
Option B:
While taking the year off to work and study for the LSAT you could concurrently search for a sugar momma to underwrite your full-tuition at Pitt.
Here's a site that claims to have 100's of rich and sexy older women for you to socialize with in Pittsburgh:
http://www.dateacougar.com/?s=free_db_s ... OgodpE0AKQ
Option C:
I would look at graduate programs in Marriage & Family Therapy. This field is one of the fastest growing in Health Care and soon will be eligible for third party insurance billing.
Robert Salinger, a marriage and family therapist in Terryville, Conn., jokes: “I had a professor in graduate school who was very outspoken, and she came into our class one day and said, ‘Let’s face it, no one in their right mind would go into this field unless they were screwed up, and we’re all trying to get less screwed up.’”
Below is a detailed overview of the profession for you to consider:
http://money.usnews.com/careers/best-jo ... -therapist
Option D (and definitely last on the list):
Attend Pitt at full price. I played basketball in high school with a Cleveland Marshall who was 6'2" and he never made it to the pros...so the track record for anything with that name is not good.
P.S. The correct answer, according to LSAC, and which sadly only 10% of takers got right: "A."

Re: Cleveland Marshall Full Ride or Pitt at Sticker
Regional schools like Pitt should only be attended if youre from there, want to live there long term, and are paying next to nothing in tuition.
TTTs like CM should definitely be avoided because less than half their grads ever become lawyers. Plus, whats 3.1, anyway? I bet its above their median. They are betting against you, and preying on your unfounded optimism.
CM is your better offer for financial reasons, but just know that you will probably never be a lawyer if you go there, and if you become one, you will probably be stuck in Cleveland for the rest of your life.

Thanks guys! Sorry for the chip on my shoulder. Made lots of bad decisions as an 18-23 year old and Tier 1 is near impossible for me. These are the only two options at the moment. I realize you are just giving me the best advice possible, and it's my fault for making a hasty post without anticipating the firing squad I deserved. Best of luck to all of you in your legal careers.

Whatever you do, don't go Pitt at sticker.
Have you looked at these? --LinkRemoved--
If you would like to pay off your debt, you'll probably have to be one of the 29 students who lands a 100+ Law Firm or Fed Clerkship gig.
A smarter investment would be to borrow a quarter of a million dollars from a bank, walk into a casino, and bet it all on Red.

If you already made life mistakes, then don't double down on them by running headfirst into law school. What are your numbers?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
