UCONN vs QUINNIPIAC?
I've been accepted to both. I'm a CT resident that was leaning toward UCONN, but just received a full scholarship to Quinnipiac. A game changer. Looking for thoughts on UCONN vs Quinnipiac with respect to job prospects, reputation, etc. After Graduation would like to stay in CT.

Need a little more information here. How much are you getting from UConn? How are you financing law school? What are your career goals?

The COA- I haven't received anything grants from UCONN- just loan$. Quinnipiac offered full scholarship plus $1500.00 yearly stipend for 3 yrs. Since I'm a CT resident I'm considering living at home with parents either way at least for the first year. Regarding post graduation possibly Health Law at small-midsize law firm w/in CT/NY/MA. With CT being number 1.

If you choose not to give it, I assume you know what the correct answer is.hunter wrote:The COA- I haven't received anything grants from UCONN- just loan$. Retaking and attending a T14 would give you a decent shot at one of the couple dozen SA spots in Hartford, Stamford, and New Haven. Median grades + solid CT ties are probably fine.hunter wrote:The COA- I haven't received anything grants from UCONN- just loan$. It's a lot harder to get one of these jobs out of UConn. You'll need exceptional grades (top 10-20%) and a lot of luck. If you miss out on an SA spot, there's a good chance you'll graduate unemployed and spend months hustling for small firm work all over the state. You'll be competing with unemployed grads from BU/BC, Fordham, Suffolk, Northeastern, St. Johns, Hofstra, and countless other schools in the northeast. You'll also be competing with UConn grads from previous years clerking at local state courts or interning for free.
It'll be even harder to get a job out of Quinnipiac, but at least you won't have the stress of debt. Between these two options, I'd go with Quinnipiac if there are no stips. But the better course of action is to go to a T14 and return to CT to practice.
