BC at discount vs. Wake Forest full ride
I'm looking at BC for with a 25k scholarship versus Wake Forest for a full tuition scholarship.
Wake's COA: 50k (school's COA - scholarship - 10k savings per year + interest)
BC COA: 167k (added 14k per year for living versus wake - scholarship - 10k savings + interest)
I'm from the Boston area. I'm not dead-set on staying in Boston though. I'd like to practice at Big or Medium law.
164 LSAT (1 time) / 3.74 GPA

Retake. But if you are set on attending, then BC since you're from Boston, but try to negotiate and increase their scholarship. Basically, attending Wake makes it difficult for you to network in your home market, plus you're isolated to local jobs around Wake if you don't land work at home, which would suck if you end up not liking the area and have little interest in establishing a career there. Additionally, you state you're interested in biglaw, which means BC is a must out of the two choices.

Well said. I second that advice.

Is that $25k scholarship total or per year?
The best answer will most likely be BC, but the best answer will also include you living at home.

Gotta retake. Neither school gives you a good shot at big law. BC is too expensive at that price and Wake makes no sense given your ties/goals.
If you can bring the cost of attendance down at BC and are ok with not getting big law then BC would be fine.

I love people who overestimate their COA.Mr.Billeary wrote:BC scholarship is annual (25k per year)Is that $25k scholarship total or per year?

Good news: Debt at BC will only be about $140,000. (COL will not be anywhere near $14k/yr more than at Wake)
Bad news: That's still too much to pay for BC.
Is there a good reason why you couldn't live at home? If you do that, then your COA could come down to like 90k or something, which is much more reasonable.

I'm gonna go with retake and reapply. Good gpa and your lsat shows you have potential. You're one good test away from CCNP, even if you only jump a little Cornell and other lower t14s will give you a much better chance for biglaw.
