Bama w/ full ride should be your #1 choice. However, you should know that while Alabama dominates the state market, they don't place nearly as well in the rest of the South. So if you're comfortable staying in bama after graduation, it's the right decision and you should be debt free since 15k/year will cover CoL.

Vandy is a nice second option. You'd come out with less than 75k in debt and they place well all over the South, and more broadly than UA. Nashville also beats the hell out of Tuscaloosa as far as quality of life. If you want to keep your options open for placement throughout the South (especially Texas/Atl), Vandy is the better option.

If you want to be in the South, forget Penn and Georgetown. You will honestly have more access from the regional schools. It's only anecdotal, but I know a girl who graduated from GULC who was unemployed for almost a year in Alabama. I have also heard, from attorneys in Birmingham, that partners feel more comfortable with regional schools b/c they know the associates won't be leaving/moving anytime soon. The markets in the South are incredibly insular.

Yea since you want to go into PI go to Georgetown Law you will not pay a penny in tuition if you make less than 75k over the next 10 years not a penny. If you make over 75k then they tapper off the LRAP at 90k call their financial aid office for more info but if your doing PI there's literally no better place on earth than D.C. and GULC is by far the best school in D.C. - go to the Admitted Students Weekend they explain all that info there for a little over an hour it's very informative.
