Clearly not.Lobster wrote:Long-time lurker here. So what's the deal with TLS being obsessed with school rankings? I can become a lawyer from any accredited law school.

Re: Rankings
Sure you can, but your chances of becoming an employed lawyer largely depend on the quality of your school. Rankings are only relevant to the extent that they can get you a job as a lawyer.Lobster wrote:Long-time lurker here. So what's the deal with TLS being obsessed with school rankings? Re: Rankings
Yes, but if I just finish at the top of my class I'll be in good shape.californiauser wrote:Sure you can, but your chances of becoming an employed lawyer largely depend on the quality of your school. Re: Rankings
The quality of the employment available to you is determined by the LS you attend. 3T can be a decent option if you cannot afford to attend a better university. But, often it is a good investment to attend a better law school because of greater job prospects. There is no shot at making 160k at 3T. 2T and top of class would work. It largely depends on your ability to get financing. Personally I am only eligible for a small amount of loans and am attending 3T as a result of needing a full scholarship.

I see. I also see you're attending Pace. Re: Rankings
I will begin attending pace in the spring and I am excited to have the chance to study law, although I am not at Pace yet. Since I could not get financing I needed a full scholarship to study. This made it difficult for me to attend any T2 or T1 school. I am glad to be studying for my law degree. The degree will be a lifelong achievement for me.
