Are you attending a non-HYS T14 with a $75k or less scholly?
Just wanted a show of hands, hoping I'm not in the minority of people going this route (trying to reassure myself I'm not crazy
).

Well my three options right now are 1) Sticker at NYU 2) Sticker at UVA or 3) Neither
So, maybe.
So, maybe.

I think there are more accurate ways to find out if you're in the minority on this one.

I'm not, but if it was my best option I would.

I don't think going to CCN MVPB or ND are bad choices with $50-75k.

You can also look up the ABA profiles on LSAC. Of course, that doesn't account for things like family help, savings, or undergrad debt.IAFG wrote:I think there are more accurate ways to find out if you're in the minority on this one.

I'm pretty sure the majority of ppl in general that attend a T14 do so with <75k in scholarship money. Not sure how many have substantial outside non-laon contributions, but I doubt it's most of them.
That said, I don't know if I would if I had less than 75k (and it wasn't HYS), I might just not go and try again while also pursuing other possibilities. I'm very risk averse when it comes to taking on debt.

Wasn't aware of this, will check it out. Doing a TLS poll was certainly the most lazy way,ChampagnePapi wrote:You can also look up the ABA profiles on LSAC. Yea, and it is a terribly designed poll. Anyone who is going to a non-T14 school choosing no will fuck up your results. You should add AT LEAST two more choices: Outside the t14 with more that $75k, OUtside the T14 with $75k or less. Still not great, but less bad.

I'm pretty sure you KNOW that most people go to most schools with less than a 75k scholarship whether it's a t6, t10, or t13, or t50.
I would worry though because those with 75k+ scholarships probably have higher numbers and are thus 99% more likely to outperform you 1L. You will not get a job at OCI and your life will spiral out of control. You really screwed the pooch on this one.
Edit: forgot to troll GULC with t13.

I was looking at paying sticker, but another T-14 came through. So...

Re: Are you attending a non-HYS T14 with a $75k or less scholly?
i thought about going to a t14 at sticker, but now am attending a lower t14 with near-full/full ride.
for anyone out there thinking about it: do the biglaw post-taxes post-loan repayment take-home salary calculations. When I did the math, I would be making 45k/year after paying sticker, or $70k/year with a lower t14 discount. That is a HUUUUUGE difference quality-of-life wise.
Just my .02.

So you're settled on Northwestern/Cornell? Do you know which one yet?twinkletoes16 wrote:i thought about going to a t14 at sticker, but now am attending a lower t14 with near-full/full ride.

You definitely geneterated one of the longest and more contentious "pick a school" threads on here

Gonna graduate from Penn with $150k-$170k debt. If I get biglaw, I probably won't regret it.

I'm not. But I would depending on the school and my other options.
And Twinkle I also want an update if I'll be seeing you in the Fall.

I'm deciding between GULC w/ $75k, Chicago w/ $30k, and Columbia at sticker (not even a need-based dollar)
