Opinion of Rutgers, Seton Hall?

Post by Cdanesi » Wed Apr 17, 2013 7:26 pm

What's the opinions of these schools? I'm from the NYC area and I'm considering some others but what's the general feeling about Rutgers Newark and Seton Hall?

Thanks!

Seriously. There are probably 100 threads discussing these schools.

They're okay options if you're from NJ and want to practice in NJ and go for dirt cheap. Otherwise avoid.

honestly if you're smart it'd be really easy to get high grades. people from that state are ridiculously dumb. it is probably the dumbest state in the union in that all of the smart and motivated people leave. the jersey shore IQ is a real epidemic. it isn't just the television show.

You should give OP his email address to get the skinny.

OP, take a look at LST, and you'll see that the median salary for the Class of 2011 was $43k at SHU and $50k at RU, and that's with only about half of the class reporting salaries, so you can figure it's probably worse than that. I think it all comes down to cost and what your other options may be. Others may beg to differ, but I think that if you can keep your total COA at each school at $50k or less, it's a reasonable investment. Then again, if you were to walk away/turn down a solid job making $40k-$50k or more for a 50/50 shot at recouping that salary and now with a bunch of debt, you may want to think twice.

Note to self- do not flame NJ schools before morning coffee. In revenge of you pointing out my grammatical error rwhyan, I will now fire two people at my retail clothing outlet store. Two innocent, hard-working high schoolers just lost their job because of your attention to detail...I hope YOU'RE happy.

It's all in good fun. As a New Jerseyan, I need to stand up for my own. Sorry to hear about the two high schoolers losing their jobs, but on the bright side, maybe they'll be replaced by a couple of newly minted, unemployed JDs!
