No. There are plenty of people who go PT who don't actually have a job on top of it.

No idea, but presumably your resume would show that you weren't working if you weren't. It probably doesn't look great to go PT without working without some other good reason (raising kids, helping elderly parents, whatever), but if you have great grades and other WE I don't know how much difference it would make.
