If you're trying to work as a patent litigation associate, I think you should try to work part-time in patent prosecution while attending law school. If you're trying to be a federal judge, then you need to target higher-ranked schools. What is the COA at SMU, and would you be able to keep your current job/get another patent prosecution job in Dallas?
