U of MN $ vs. NU $ Forum

I'm lucky enough to have received generous offers from both MN and Northwestern. MN has offered full tuition and university fees while NU offered $50k/yr.

If I choose MN, I'll likely graduate with about $60k debt, but NU puts me up to $100k. And I'll be paying for law school entirely on my own, so that debt is a little daunting.

I'm not sure exactly what kind of law I want to practice, but advocacy and constitutional interest me. Just wondering what others would choose in my situation?

In your position, I would take Northwestern and be thrilled. 100k for NU seems like a good deal to me. Best of luck with your choice!

Northwestern. Check LST. The additional job prospects are worth the extra cost.

if by MN you mean minnesota, how is this a question? also $50K/yr at NU means you have a lot of other options I'd put inbetween

Well, it seems pretty unanimous. My only hesitation was really that I'm not sure I want to pursue "big law." Having the option, however, is certainly appealing.

And surprisingly, there aren't really other in-between options. I've received a scholarship offer from Georgetown as well, but lower than both MN and NU. Unless Cornell gets back with a financial aid offer to upset the status quo, it really is down to these two.
