Is $84K at BC near enough to be worth considering over paying sticker at UVA?
FWIW i'm interested exclusively in environmental law (have a grad degree in environmental policy) and would like to work in PI/govt.

What is total CoA of each of these options? How much would be debt-financed?
Where do you want to work?
What are your stats?
UVA is probably TCR since 84k at BC will still put you ~100k in debt, but I would be nervous taking that option.

I think UVA at sticker is pretty clearly better than BC with $84k. But the bigger question is whether either of these options are better than not going at all.

Less than half (and probably closer to 1/3) of the total CoA would be debt-financed for UVA sticker
Ideally I'd like to work in PI/govt. in D.C. but am aware of how hard that market can be to crack
And my stats are 3.5x/171

I agree that that's the bigger question here. I'm still pretty much 50/50 on whether I want to go to law school in the first place. Also considering retaking in the summer and reapplying for next cycle, and in the meantime looking further for a job to get with my M.P.A. to see where that could lead (at the moment I just have some bullshit part-time job to make some money while I decide whether or not I could commit to something more serious at this time)

The job you want probably doesn't even exist. The market is abysmal, your desires are common, and the governments are facing massive budget cuts and hiring freezes.oldschool123 wrote:Is $84K at BC near enough to be worth considering over paying sticker at UVA?
