The Illinois bar says that the current model of legal education is garbage. So, why apply? Why go?

short answer: no one should attend law school at sticker, absent unique circumstances (YSH, guaranteed job at graduation, possibly other small exceptions). However, if you can go at a discount or for free, there are cases where it does make economic sense.
