Applying in late december..how bad is it?
Hello everyone!
So basic rundown is that I have a pretty good undergrad gpa + recs. Problem is that I got my oct. score back and it's a 157. Way below what I was scoring around..about a 165ish. Anyways, though my application for most schools is complete..I want to wait off till late December after retaking and have a solid score(fingers crossed) for T20's and higher. Thoughts?

Samesies. I've got a 3.85 GPA and scored a 158 in October. Retook in December and think I probably hit between 163-165. Am I screwed for this cycle? Should I do a service fellowship for a year and apply next cycle in October? Retake in February and apply next cycle?

you don't really have anything to lose by applying and seeing what happens. if you get desirable outcomes, then by all means attend. if not, re-take the LSAT and get that 170, and re-apply next year.
you can look at applications on LSN by when they applied, that should be useful to you guys.

When the number of applicants is dropping precipitously, what makes you guys think you're up shit creek because you're applying this late?
You should definitely retake and apply with February or June scores. That might sound late, but unless you're applying to HYS the schools you're looking at will probably be happy to take your June score if it's a few points higher.

I am in the same position and common sense would lead me to believe that a lot of schools will be holding off on their acceptances in attempt to squeeze in the best candidates, especially with the current state of the legal field.
Just out of curiosity if you get that 162-165, where will you be applying or where are you building APPs for atm?
I had a 158 in December and I am expecting a score in that same range; my gpa is 3.66.
My main goal is to get into Rutgers Newark with at least a 12k scholarship. I have started to weed out BC/W&L because I am starting to understand that it is not worth it to attend at sticker.
I just can't think of anything better to do with a 3.66 and a +160 LSAT then go to Rutgers on a scholly (NJ resident here).

Your GPA is legit enough to warrent a scholarship when coupled with a median or above LSAT at T30s.Coveted wrote: My main goal is to get into Rutgers Newark with at least a 12k scholarship. Thanks for the encouragement.
I guess it won't hurt me too much more just too wait for my score before I work on any T30 apps.

December is definitely not too late. I didn't send last year until last day of January, FWIW.
