All things considered (i.e. you have no personal preferences or factors or criteria), I'd say W&M. But they are close enough that it depends on your situation.

Both give you about a 50/50 chance at a job. George Mason is considerably more expensive. Neither is worth attending unless you're independently wealthy or you have a SIGNIFICANT scholarship.

Both schools are in super over-saturated markets that face competition from much better schools in the area. Neither places more than 7% in Biglaw and they are both very expensive.
If you absolutely refuse to retake, go to a worse school with a significant scholarship, or go to a similarly ranked school that has better job placement, I'd take W&M because it is slightly cheaper.

hey guys, so i was accepted to william and mary with a 10K per year scholly and i am in-state. so tuition would be 17K per year and i could possibly live at home (only 20 minutes away). i am going to try and negotiate, but i was wondering your thoughts on this

If you could live at home this seems worth it if you're willing to do small law. Only 54% get full-time legal jobs but $48,000 isn't soul-crushing debt no matter what your outcome is. Definitely try to negotiate that down further though.hoogs23 wrote:hey guys, so i was accepted to william and mary with a 10K per year scholly and i am in-state. so tuition would be 17K per year and i could possibly live at home (only 20 minutes away). i am going to try and negotiate, but i was wondering your thoughts on this

Do you or anyone know about law school living at home? Does it hurt the experience, etc?Yukos wrote:If you could live at home this seems worth it if you're willing to do small law. I think you need to worry about the cost and job prospects before you worry about the "experience."hoogs23 wrote:Do you or anyone know about law school living at home? Does it hurt the experience, etc?

Are you a VA resident? If so then W&M -- it's much more well respected in the state outside the DC area. Neither is very good for DC.

You better be damn sure you want to be a lawyer before you attend either of these schools. If you have *any* doubts whatsoever, DO NOT GO TO LAW SCHOOL. There is a significant chance that you will end up with debt and poor job prospects.
