You have an extra semester's worth of grades for OCI.

True, but not many reputable schools have spring starts so this is largely a moot point. Mich has the summer start, which can be great for certain people.bowser wrote:You have an extra semester's worth of grades for OCI.

Cons: To start in Spring, you'd have to attend one of the few objectively terrible law schools that offer starts in Spring.
ETA: This is about the fourth thread you've made concerning your intent to go to a LS with awful employment prospects. Do you plan to just keep asking until you get your bad idea rubber-stamped?

Re: pros/cons of starting in the spring
Telling you repeatedly that, with some effort, you won't have to go to a school that both costs $200,000 and has employment prospects that give you about a 50% chance of getting a job as a lawyer is neither hating nor being a prick.
Stop considering these schools, head over to the LSAT Prep forum, and put in the work to make law school a good investment for you.
ETA: There are plenty of law schools outside the T-14 that can be good investments. The ones you're considering are not those schools. Ex: A regional LS in the region you want to work with decent job prospects at a modest amount of debt.

The only thing TLSers are hating is your lack of common sense. I mean if you prefer to have a worthless JD, $200,000 in debt, and no prospect of legal employment, be my guest.
But in all seriousness, why are you so drawn to JMLS?

I live in ATL and work for a huge firm here. We don't have a single attorney from John Marshall.
On the upside, the campus is gorgeous.

I'm not shitting you. That is the fucking building.

Re: pros/cons of starting in the spring
There really aren't. Really. Either go to a T14 (at sticker, or with money, depending on the T14), or go to a regional school for free or extremely close to it. If you don't do either of those things, you are dramatically increasing the odds of ruining your life financially for a long, long time.mavshoosiers4life wrote:there's gotta be some more pros..

Re: pros/cons of starting in the spring
I'm begging you not to do this. I am not an elitist and I am not going to call you stupid.
You can go to a decent school. Just knuckle down and retake the LSAT. Yes, the LSAT is hard and the amount of time you have to put in to study for it is terrible. BUT YOU NEED TO DO IT. Law school admissions is not like college. Your GPA and your LSAT matter the most.
There are no guarantees going into JM. You might think you'll end up in the top 10 percent and that you'll get full-time employment. How statistically likely is that?
No one wants to be mean. Just please think this through before you commit. You deserve better than what this school will offer you.

Doesn't Yeshiva have a spring start? That's a pretty reputable school, no?
