Re: Last Minute Waitlist Acceptance
You need to call the law school registrar at your current (& soon to be former) law school about a refund.

Ya, tuition for the fall is already due, sounded insane to me as well. Sounds like there's nothing wrong with switching schools this late in the game though. I'm not breaking some LSAC rule or anything am I?

you'd get better answers if you said which school this wasamoricaorbust wrote:Ya, tuition for the fall is already due, sounded insane to me as well. Sounds like there's nothing wrong with switching schools this late in the game though. I'm not breaking some LSAC rule or anything am I?

Re: Last Minute Waitlist Acceptance
Isn't BU ~$15K more expensive per year than UT at in-state? Even if you were saving $20K per year by going to Baylor (which you aren't), that would still not be nearly enough money to make it worth choosing over UT.amoricaorbust wrote:BU. Also, am I crazy for taking UT at in-state sticker over BU with 20K?fatduck wrote:you'd get better answers if you said which school this wasamoricaorbust wrote:Ya, tuition for the fall is already due, sounded insane to me as well. You realize interest starts accruing on loans as soon as they're disbursed? Or did you pay cash? (An even worse idea).

I did the same thing as you last week haha.amoricaorbust wrote:Anybody have any thoughts regarding choosing one school over the other. Primary concern is employment not location. I would rather work in the Northeast than be unemployed while living in Texas and vice versa.
COA for UT is about 120K.
COA for BU is about 85K
edit: Texas resident also.
COA BU was 65-70k
COA UT is going to be 105K.
Edit: I'm instate and would like to practice in TX.

I did. Just a small about though. 40k total in schollys and grants. But the instate discount is like getting a 50k scholly on top of that so it somewhat evens out (at least that's what I tell myself).

How do you pay for tuition if it isn't with loans or cash and you don't have a scholarship? Why is cash worse than loans too?

OP is paying tuition months before it's due. Whether in loans or cash that's a bad idea unless the OP hates money.PolySuyGuy wrote:Paul Campos wrote:You realize interest starts accruing on loans as soon as they're disbursed? Or did you pay cash? (An even worse idea).
