Decision Advice...
Hey guys, long-time lurker, but I need the advice of the board on my situation. I've been accepted and have deposited to attend BC next year, but I had signed up to take the June LSAT to leave open the option of reapplying next cycle (per the wisdom of TLS). Unofficial scores came in earlier and my score was 170 (this was my third LSAT and both of my previous scores were 166). I wanted to get a feel for what you guys believe to be my best option going forward.
Some basic information:
-170 LSAT (166 and 166 previously)
-3.72 undergrad GPA from a private school in NYC
-male, non-URM
-I'm originally from the South but I would strongly prefer to practice in the Northeast; NYC would be my ideal location, but I would be happy in Boston or elsewhere
-I currently have a scholarship offer from BC for $25,000 a year with no stipulations; I have some undergrad debt but I'm willing to take on more
-If I were to take a year off, I already have a job at home (not something that I would consider career-wise however)
Please let me know what you guys think. Thank you.

A 170/3.72 should get you into multiple Top 14 law schools (probably not the Top 6, however) if you reapply next cycle. BC's offer was great for a 166/3.72, but you now qualify for a different league--the lower T-14.

Looking at LSN, you have a great shot at MVP and you're getting into Cornell/Duke/Northwestern.
Wait a year, do something you enjoy, reapply.

I vote reapply. But can you ask bc for more money?

I'm leaning that way, but my only concern is that my two previous LSAT scores might hurt my resume. I know the general wisdom here is that your top score matters most, but I worry nonetheless. Am I just overthinking this?
And yes, I do plan on asking BC for more money at the very least.

Top score is what's reported to USNWR so that's what schools care about. Its definitely in your best interest to reapply and get $$ from a lower T14.nariii111 wrote:I'm leaning that way, but my only concern is that my two previous LSAT scores might hurt my resume. Great advice from previous posters. I would agree that if you reapplied you would most likely get a decent scholly from lower T14 schools. However, if for whatever reason you DO NOT want to wait a year then going to BC with $25k a year isn't the riskiest bet that's ever been made. BC's employment statistics kind of suck, but I think with 25k a year you are justified in attending. What does everyone else think (assuming OP doesn't want to wait another year)?
