^ this.

BUT, OP you're in the exact same position that I'm in except I felt the exact opposite way you did when I visited both BLS and Cardozo in March. I actually liked Cardozo a lot better. We've also had quite a few interns in our office over the years from Cardozo and they've all been pretty cool and got their work done. I visited BLS a second time in May after they upped me to full, and I liked it better the second time around but part of me is wondering if that was partly due to the money (after Cardozo had said they'd "run out" of money). That said, I really like the director of the BLS Career Services office.

After Cardozo came back matching BLS' offer last week, I just started asking every attorney and staff person at work and in agencies that we work with because this back-and-forth is driving me nuts. The consensus?

"BLS," "Cardozo," "well...Cardozo," "um...probably BLS," "either one," etc etc. The only consistent thing I heard was "they both fine, and either one will offer you good opportunities provided you do well in school." [PI/gov't context only]

The only distinguishing factor I've heard about the DA's offices is that Manhattan is starting to care more about rankings than they have in the past, which gives an edge to Cardozo, and Brooklyn (of course) is slanted toward BLS grads. Cardozo offers a clinic with the Manhattan DA whereas BLS gets you externships at the Brooklyn DA's office. Neither school shuts off your access to the other school's DA's office. Quite frankly, if these are your choices with two full rides, I believe the answer is "go to the one you liked better, minimize your cost of living debt as much as possible, and concentrate on doing well wherever you choose to go."

Could you provide examples of these agencies then- it might be helpful to OP. My experience was that local government hiring was limited to the Law Dep't/Corp Counsel and the DA
timbs, sorry this is such a late reply, but every agency in local NY gvmt has a counsel's office. You might have to dig a little deeper to find their contact info, but if you can get in, it's a great job. It's basically in-house counsel for the gvmt and you end up doing a variety of legal work.

Ford/Chevy, Canon/Nikon, MAC/PC, McDonalds/Burger King

Basically, the rankings and job differences aren't enough to matter nor is the stipend.

Pick whichever YOU feel better about. Simple as that.

Zionman is just trolling for Dozo, he has no real reasoning. He does the same thing in Fordham threads.
