WUSTL $ vs. Emory $
I have narrowed my law school choices to Emory (16k/yr) and WUSTL (20k/yr). I am interested in business/corporate law and would like to work in Texas after graduation. I am having a difficult time deciding between these two schools. What do you all think? Who do you think places better in Texas or is it a wash? Who has better Big Law placement? Which school do you all think has a better "business/corporate law program" I have to deposit by June 1. Any thoughts/comments/remarks are appreciated.

Agree that both SMU with $$$ & Houston with $$$ are much better for one desiring to work in Texas than either WashUStL or Emory.
Between WashUStL & Emory, visit both before deciding. Otherwise determine whether you prefer the Midwest or the South as a future home.

Also, is Baylor an option? $$ or $$$ there too would be better than Emory or WashU. Tulane with $$$ would also be a good option. Emory and WashU only place about 5% into TX, but that may be self selection.
What about your ties to TX? Doesn't that market place a huge emphasis on ties? If so, and you don't have any, you need to go to a TX school.

If you don't have ties, Texas schools + Tulane are your best bets.
If you do have ties, I would still stick with Texas schools + Tulane unless you are talking Cornell on up.
Do you have ties? If not, then neither of those schools will do much for you in TX. If you do, I would still be cautious with those schools.

Like others said, you need a Texas option. SMU is a great school.
