Negotiating a waitlist acceptance with another waitlist Forum

I'm waitlisted at two identically ranked schools. If I'm accepted off one, can I use that acceptance to put the pressure on the other? Like "School A just accepted me and gave me 5 days to decide, but I really want to attend school B. Is it possible for you to reconsider my file before I have to decide on School A's offer?" Or is that considered pushy and not recommended?

You should definitely ask. Might not work but, like the above poster said, it won't hurt you as long as your request is well-written.
