BU vs. OSU Forum

OSU with 0 debt or BU with 90k in debt after 3 years. I don't want to live in Ohio forever, but the cost difference is hard to ignore..any input would be really appreciated!

Is living in Boston during & after law school worth $90,000 plus interest to you ?

If you want out of Ohio without debt, then you need to retake the LSAT & score higher than your current 161 to pair with your 3.8 GPA.

If you don't want to live in Ohio forever then you shouldn't go to OSU. But as CanadianWolf said if you do go to school out of state you can likely do much better than BU @90k if you retake the LSAT.

I was in a situation similar to yours faced with a decision to stay in Ohio with little to no debt or go to a higher ranked school with a more national reach. Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

So everyone agrees Boston is pretty much a waste of money?...is the general consensus that unless you go to a top 14 school or a school that won't cause you to graduate with debt it's just not worth it?....so basically the schools in the 20-30 range are worthless to me? Sorry for all the questions just trying to make the right decision!

I'm not sure what advice to give here, but I thought I'd let you know that I just finished my first year at Ohio State and would be happy to answer any questions you might have to help you out!

I will say if I had the opportunity to not be taking the loans I'm taking, I would jump on it.

BU with 90k debt isn't terrible. If you don't want to stay in Ohio, don't go to OSU, but don't go to BU if you don't want Boston
