UH ($50k-debt) vs Illinois ($100k-debt)

Post by dynh » Fri May 11, 2012 5:41 pm

Hello, I'm interested in hearing your opinions on my decision to attend the University of Houston. I was accepted to no T14 schools but did receive scholarship offers from other 'lowly' Tier 1 schools. My estimates are: W&M-$100k of debt, Emory-$130k, BU-$120k and Notre Dame-$130k. Is my decision boneheaded? I have lived in Houston all of my life and can see myself working here... I also am open to the idea of living elsewhere. I think I am more debt-averse than most posters here although I incurred none in undergraduate. Thanks for your input

All of these schools are regional. Pick the school by picking what area of the country you most want to live in.

If you want to live and work in Houston, then no, this is not a stupid decision.
