Texas ($$$) v NYU ($)

Post by titania » Tue Apr 17, 2012 10:52 pm

I had planned to withdraw from UT but today I received a Townes-Rice that threw a wrench in those plans.

I am responsible for about $30,000 should I attend UT and $135,000 should I attend NYU. I could probably attend Texas without loans but would have to take out loans at NYU.

My current plan is public interest so the NYU LRAP would help me out, but the idea of no loans is appealing. I don't really have a specific place I want to end up, but I have lived in Texas all my life and plan to leave the south.

Any input is appreciated.

I also have a KB1 from Harvard soon but I don't want to assume anything

Any chance that you're planning to practice tax law ?

If you are planning to leave The South, which markets/locations do you find appealing ?

With a 177/3.9, you should have at least one of Harvard, Yale & Stanford as well as money from NYU, Columbia, Chicago & many others. Something seems amiss here if those are your numbers.

When was your TLS profile last updated ?

I just updated all my info.

To explain why my cycle doesn't appear to match my numbers, I have basically no softs...

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning NYU
