Need advice from fellow TSLers

Post by Goldenmonkey » Mon Apr 16, 2012 9:12 pm

I've been accepted to DU, U Miami, Temple, and received 14k from Pitt.
Until I received money from Pitt, my plan was to retake the LSAT for a third time and reapply. I've been wait listed at nearly every school that I want to attend. Do you think that I should take the money or take the year off? The way I see it is that I can get into any of these schools again and be in this position again next year, so a year off won't hurt me too much. My stats are: 3.7 GPA (3.6 LSAC GPA), LSAT 159,161,(?)

Good idea. Retake.

Do you think you can improve further?
Do you have something worthwhile to do next year?

Yeah I think that I can do better. I was tested around a 164-169 before my second retry but I really really had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the second section and into the third. It's pretty hard to concentrate when nature is calling.

Also I was thinking about traveling abroad. Potentially doing a language home stay in France or teaching for a couple months abroad. The idea of taking a year off after UG came into my head this past weekend and it seems pretty nice.

Definitely retake. Make a habit of going to the restroom before studying. Good luck!

This happened to me too. I was DYING about halfway through RC. I never finish RC on time so I went ahead and did the LR section after, finished in 30ish mins and bolted for the restroom.

I agree, retake.

Also, where are you from and where do you want to work? I would think more about this in your next cycle and an approach to your cycle around it.
