RU-Newark vs. Cardozo May PT Please help Deadline next week!

Post by avola6587 » Thu Apr 12, 2012 8:59 pm

Hi everyone!

I am from New Jersey and would be happy with working in either Jersey or NYC. Not sure what type of law I want to practice, although BigLaw looks appealing at the moment. RU would be in state with no scholarship (already tried negotiating), and I have $4000 annual need based grant from Cardozo. Not sure if Cardozo is worth the extra money, but the seat deposit deadline is next week. I already put down a seat deposit at Rutgers for full time, but it is partially refundable. Really need some help with this decision!! Thanks everyone!

Rutgers- Dozo biglaw placement is pretty weak and the school is insanely expensive. You do know you probably won't get biglaw from either of those schools, right?

3.51/159. I really studied my ass off for the LSAT. Spent a solid 4 months and my scores ranged from 150-160 one time, so I am quite pleased with my score as it is at the top of my PT range. I am aware at the relatively low placement in to BigLaw at both schools, but does going to Dozo open up any doors that would be closed at RU?

Dozo has a marginally better shot at biglaw, but the extra debt is not worth it.

Jerseylwstudent is posting on every thread possible to try and get people to withdraw from rutgers, since he is still on the wait-list. no class.
