Texas vs. WUSTL
After negotiating aid from Texas, my debt after graduating would be roughly $130,000.
debt after WUSTL: $75-80,000
I'm from Arkansas, but have some ties to Texas - extensive travel, friends, family. No ties to the midwest. I've moved around a bit, and would be happy working in any city of reasonable size.
Is UT worth the extra 50K? I've looked at loan calculators, and it looks like 130K over ten years at 7% is like 18K/year, which would be rough on a 50-60K salary and WUSTL would leave like an 11K/year obligation.

Without any ties to the midwest I'd probably take Texas in your situation.

If you want to work in Texas, Texas is the clear winner. If you want to work outside of Texas, take the money at WUSTL. If you don't care where you work, then go to Texas and work in Texas.

Re: Texas vs. WUSTL
If willing to work in Texas & willing to take biglaw, then, yes, Texas is worth the extra $50,000 over 3 years. If biglaw is out of the question & Texas is unappealing to you, then take the less costly option.
