Chicago at that price is a steal. I'd go there.

Urban or campus setting ? If open to either, then Chicago's placement stats easily justify the cost difference.

Chicago at that price is fricken awesome and I'd go there.
But if you want to stay in Michigan, graduating from UM with 40k of debt is totally reasonable over nearly any option.
Congrats! Can't go wrong!

Can't go wrong either way. Chicago gives you a slightly better chance at biglaw and I think their revamped LRAP is slightly better if you go the gov/PI route (although you won't have too much in loans anyway). I'd probably visit both choose whichever you like better.seniorgoon wrote:I am from Michigan and I would like to stay in the Midwest after law school (either in Michigan or Chicago, really). I haven't really ruled out many options with regard to what kind of job I ultimately want.

I agree that you should visit the UChi campus, if you haven't already, but it's still probably the better choice.

Eh, I'd not visit, the job prospects seal the deal. No need to know how shitty those three years are going to be before hand. Let that shit get ripped off like a bandaid in Sept.IAFG wrote:I agree that you should visit the UChi campus, if you haven't already, but it's still probably the better choice.

Michigan is essentially free though. And UChi is... a niche taste.Desert Fox wrote:Eh, I'd not visit, the job prospects seal the deal.
