Should I Retake

Post by justicefishy » Fri Apr 06, 2012 6:29 pm

My cycle has been awesome. I am into 2 top 10's and due to parents and savings, will be in minimal debt attending these schools (Penn or UVA). However, I am still waitlisted at my top choice, U-Chicago, and was considering retaking my 170 to help me get off the wait list there or potentially get money from Penn. Would you say it's worth it to take the June 2012 test for this or should I just not bother (as my GPA is rather low, 3.4).

Thanks!

How bad do you want U-Chicago?

Retaking can't hurt you, so if you really want UChicago you might as well... provided you think it is likely that your score will rise.

I have the same gpa and higher lsat. There are some people with 3.3-3.4 and 173+ LSATs who got into UChi with ED but your odds of waitlist  reject are high IMO.

Retake, there's very little downside and a potential for huge upside (i.e., getting off the WL and getting money from other schools).

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll probably end up retaking if I PT better (173+), if not, I'll accept that I'm doomed to go to Penn :D
