USC at sticker?
So USC at sticker (probably won't get a scholly)....worth it or not?
W&L w/ full ride worth it or not? Why do so many people disregard W&L?
I have no idea what decision to make.

why are these schools all over the map? Where are you from and where do you want to practice?

This is definitely something you need to take into consideration, but if location is really not an issue, I'd say it's pretty hard to pass up a free legal education of W&L's caliber.chimp wrote:why are these schools all over the map? Where are you from and where do you want to practice?
Personally, I'd rather be in LA though...

Yea,
they're all over the place. I basically had no preference of where to go. I'm pretty sure I do not want to go to UF even though I love Gainesville, FL. I basically applied to anywhere with a fee waiver understanding that I had no geographic preferences.
Some people here recommended going to UF because I'm from there. But....I'm still weighing my options.

USC is risky at sticker, but it isn't the worst investment in the world. There tons of places that are worse.ttunsehc wrote:So USC at sticker (probably won't get a scholly)....worth it or not?

If you are going to take a risky move and go to law school, you might as well go for the home run. Hedging your bets with a full ride at WL will likely leave you in the same situation you are in now, which is in need of a career. Law is a bimodal career path. There are high paying jobs and a lot of low paying jobs. Not so many in the middle.
Best option is to retake.
2nd best is to go to USC.
IMO i would go with USC sticker over WL full ride.
WL places roughly 12% vs USC 32% in biglaw.
3x the placement for 120k.
Ask if USC can give you some kind of scholarship.

With a 164/3.86, Wash & Lee's offer is attractive enough in light of your Virginia residency to pass up USC. Wash & Lee's Southern culture is not for everyone, however.
Did you apply to Virginia ED ?

No, no, I'm not a VA resident and I did not apply to VA ED.
So what happens to the people at USC who don't get Big LAW? How do they pay off their loans? LRAP?

Re: USC at sticker?
Considering the fact that you were already thinking about a retake in August, I think that is your best option.

The second best option is to retake. And then never go to law school.
The third best option is W&L (as you probably won't be getting biglaw from USC either).
The fourth best option is USC and then IBR.

retake. There is no reason to sell yourself short with a 3.8+ GPA.

Re: USC at sticker?
I definitely wouldn't suggest USC at sticker unless you have some sort of money saved up beforehand and some help from your family, etc. to draw upon. In other words, sticker at USC is okay in certain situations, but I wouldn't do it if I had to take out loans for full tuition + COL.

Your poll is misleading about your residency since Wm. & Mary offered you in-state tuition (probably due to a fellowship award).
